In a good phase in Ultimate, Edson Barboza designed the duel against Giga Chikadze, scheduled to take place in the main fight of the UFC Las Vegas 35 this Saturday (28). “He's a good fighter, he has six fights in the UFC (and hasn't lost yet). He's looked great in the fights he's won, and when the UFC offered that fight, I said, 'Yeah, sure.' I love watching good fights. And I saw this fight on paper knowing it would be good. And people want to watch it. This really motivated me to say yes to the duel, because it’s going to be a war,” said Barboza.

Since debuting in the featherweight category (up to 65,7kg), Edson has had good performances in Ultimate. The Brazilian had a controversial defeat against Dan Ige in a split decision, but won mawan amirkhani e Shane burgos right away. Now, he reveals that he is looking for his third victory in the series and explains career longevity.

“I understood that I'm older and I had a 'click' in my career, because I was killing myself and, in training, there was always a war in training. I learned about it and, today, I feel in my best shape. Strong, fast, injury-free, in the best shape of my life. It's crazy, because if you asked me years ago, I would probably have said I would stay a long time. And today, I'm feeling like, 'Hey, I can do this for a long, long time.' I feel good”, added the Brazilian.
