After achieving a victory and a draw in the regular season, Argentine Emiliano Sordi spoke about the difficulties in his preparation for the light heavyweight (under 93kg) tournament. The 'He-Man' revealed that he contracted Covid-19, said that he was not in his best shape at the start of the competition, but guaranteed that he was 100% for the duel against Shoe Face.

“The truth is that physically I knew I wasn’t 100%. I spent a whole year doing nothing, just locked up at home. After that, I came to the US in January and started training a lot. But a few days before going into PFL quarantine, I had COVID-19 and that also affected my performance. For the second fight, I contracted a bacteria, so it was just bad luck before the fights, but, we are Latinos, we were born fighting and we will certainly die fighting”, said Sordi to 'MMA Junkie'.
About the confrontation against Antonio Shoe Face next Friday, the Argentine confirmed that he is 100% recovered and ready for the duel.
“I feel really good, although in the first two fights I wasn't in shape, they (his team) helped me get in shape for this fight. For the semi-final, I really feel like I'm 100%”, concluded Emiliano.
Champion of the 2019 edition of the light heavyweight tournament, Sordi is looking for a new title and a US$1 million prize. In the regular season, the Argentine beat Chris Camozzi in a unanimous decision by the judges and drew with Dan Spohn in their last clash. The fighter has an MMA record of 23 wins, eight setbacks and one draw.
