After a victory that could provide a possible shot at the middleweight title (up to 83,9kg.), Jared Cannonier explained his 'secret' to defeating Kelvin Gastelum in the most important fight of UFC Las Vegas 34 last Saturday. In a post-event press conference, the American stated that he remained focused and calm during the fight.

“I was always focused. You know, the fight could have ended anyway. It's all about keeping your composure, staying focused, getting the job done and that's what I was looking for throughout the fight. I wasn’t too hasty to knock him out and I had the calm to win,” said Cannonier.
It does not stop there. O 'Killa Gorilla', as it is known, was still compared to an action film, where one step could change the entire fate of the duel. He even says that he usually maintains composure in his life and finds it easy to adapt his style in his presentations.
“Kelvin (Gastelum) was still alive in the fight and was able to hit me hard. But it was easy for me to remain calm. It's like an action movie, when I need to stay calm to get through it”, concluded the North American.
Third in the ranking, Jared Cannonier is one step away from getting a fight for the title of the middleweight division (up to 83,9kg.), led by Israel adesanya. The 31-year-old athlete has a record of 14 positive results and five negative results in his career.
