Former Strikeforce champion Nick Diaz He is, undeniably, one of the most controversial athletes who gets involved in the most unusual situations in the world of sport. This time the North American wants to launch his own MMA organization, the WAR Mixed Martial Arts, as revealed by the California Athletic Commission to the website MMA Junkie.

Diaz had already reserved the internet domain to host the event promotion website, as well as a profile with a similar name to the Twitter official. The commissioner stated that the athlete has already applied for licensing for the new organization. He considers, however, that this is just the first step and that a series of requirements and guarantees are required.

Nick Diaz, just 29 years old, has been fighting MMA professionally since 2001. The Californian, from the city of Stockton, is the only fighter to have played for IFC, Elite XC, WEC, Strikeforce, PRIDE and UFC. As a professional, Diaz has a record of 26 wins, nine losses and one fight without result.
