“Thank you all very much for your messages and love at this very difficult time in my life. It was a fracture of the tibia and fibula. I'm going to undergo surgery and soon I'll be back training to fight. May God bless the lives and families of all of you, I am very happy for all the messages”, wrote Gustavo on his Facebook page. The fighter also said the injury happened.

“It was regrettable, a fatality. At the time I felt the noise, there was a break and I felt that something had happened. The reaction was to continue the fight, but then I went to support myself on the ground and saw that I couldn't”, said Coelho, in an interview with TV Alterosa, an SBT affiliate in Minas Gerais.
