One of the greatest legends in the history of MMA, Anderson Silva may have, in fact, said goodbye to the sport in 2020. In preparation for a boxing superfight against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., the Brazilian opened up about the possibility of returning to the sport that made him known worldwide. For those who would like to see 'Spider' again in action in mixed martial arts, the statement can be discouraging.

“I think MMA, for me, is over. It's difficult to continue training at a high level, because you get injured a lot. Now, I try to just enjoy it. I don't need to prove anything to anyone anymore. I try to enjoy every moment”, said the Brazilian, in an interview with 'ESPN'.
If Silva's statement is confirmed, the former UFC middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg) may have said his farewell to MMA in front of Uriah Hall, in October 2020. On that occasion, the Brazilian ended up defeated by knockout, in a confrontation that also sealed the legend's last appearance with Ultimate gloves.
A reference in martial arts, Silva, however, can continue testing himself in the 'noble art'. In recent statements, the athlete admitted the chance to continue boxing.
In professional MMA, Anderson competed in 46 fights. The athlete won in 34 commitments and was defeated in 11, also having a 'I didn't answer'.
