Cyrille Diabaté explains defeat in London: “I suffered a calf strain”

Medical interruption meant the fighter did not continue to the second round against Jimi Manuwa

Frenchman Cyrille Diabaté went public, through his official account on Twitter, explain the defeat to Jimi Manuwa in the UFC London, held last Saturday (16). Diabaté apologized to the fans and clarified the injury that led the doctor to interrupt the fight between the first and second rounds.

“I want to apologize to all UFC fans and my opponent. I suffered a calf strain in the 1st round and couldn't support myself on the front of my right leg. I will be back!”, the Frenchman published in his profile on the microblogging network.

The injury took away from Cyrille Diabaté the chance to get his third consecutive victory in Ultimate. With his failure, the Frenchman now has a record of four wins and three losses in the Las Vegas organization. On the other hand, his opponent, Jimi Manuwa, won his second UFC victory and remains undefeated in his career, now with ten fights already completed.
