Although he didn't put on a show in his confrontation against Kevin holland, held this Saturday (10), by UFC Las Vegas 23, Marvin vettori believes he has done enough for a title shot. In a press conference after the show, the Italian reinforced his desire to face the champion, Israel adesanya, and explained why he deserves the chance. The athlete currently occupies sixth place in the middleweight category (up to 83,9kg).

“There are five consecutive victories. I accepted anyone, at any time. I always show up, I always make weight and I don't complain about swimming. I beat these guys in a dominant way. I leave no doubt”, said the fighter.

With an eye on the champion, a possible meeting with Adesanya would mark a dream rematch for the Italian. Marvin and Israel faced each other in 2018, when the Nigerian did not yet hold the title. In the confrontation, 'Izzy' won in a split decision.

“The last fight I had with Adesanya was the closest fight he’s ever had. In my opinion, he still wants it and we need to do it again. I don't think Robert whittaker (category leader) is hungry for it. I think I'm next in line and I deserve it”, he concluded.

With the victory over Holland, who replaced Darren till, injured, at the last minute, Vettori defended his position in the rankings and confirmed his good phase. The Italian's last defeat came more than two years ago, against Israel itself.
