The victory of Glover Teixeira about Thiago Marreta It didn't just catch the attention of Brazilian fans. After overcoming his compatriot in the main fight of the UFC Las Vegas 13, held this Saturday (7), in the United States, the veteran's performance earned praise from the light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg.), Jan Blachowicz. On his 'Twitter' account, the Pole congratulated the Minas Gerais native and challenged him to a title fight.

Division champion since the end of September, when they overcame Dominick reyes and won the vacant title by Jon Jones, Blachowicz, however, made it clear that Teixeira is not his priority. The athlete stated that the initial idea is a superfight against the middleweight leader (up to 83,9kg), Israel adesanya.
“If Adesanya can’t wait until March, let’s do it,” he added.
Blachowicz recently admitted that, due to the severity of the coronavirus pandemic in his country, he may be out of action until March of next year. This way, Israel, who has become known for being an active athlete within the company, may have a clash confirmed before the deadline.
Glover's victory over Marreta confirmed the 41-year-old veteran's good form. With the result, the Minas Gerais team reached their fifth consecutive victory and should take the lead in the group ranking.
