Dana White is not willing to lose Khabib Nurmagomedov and will do everything to make him stay in MMA longer. The UFC president, who had become frustrated immediately after the Russian announced his retirement in UFC 254, has pulled himself together and is acting behind the scenes. Dana himself revealed that he spoke with the lightweight champion (70,3kg) and, once again, tried to cheer up the fans.

At the press conference after UFC Las Vegas 12, held on Saturday (31), the organization's leader showed confidence in Khabib's return, even if it was just for one more fight, and stated that he will not lose his position as number one in the category, even with the decision that took.

“Well, Khabib didn’t say he would fight, but he didn’t say no either. He's considering 30-0. His father wanted this and he was very emotional. Khabib suffered a lot to face Gaethe. He lost his father, he got sick, he got hurt, and yet he fought and won. He goes through a lot and was emotional. Khabib is still the champion! There is no vacant or interim title. The UFC will give Khabib time to figure out what he wants to do. I am confident. He told me he was going to talk to his mother,” said Dana.

Khabib Nurmagomedov announced his retirement from MMA, at the age of 32, after finishing Justin gaethje, UFC 254, and consequently defended the lightweight belt for the third time. The Russian ended his career undefeated, with 29 victories.
