“The fact that Khabib retired is very different. He is not just one of the greatest fighters in the history of MMA, but the greatest fighter we have seen! He made no mistakes. People talk about Jones, but he performed an illegal hit on Matt Hamill. Khabib made no mistakes. Khabib was dominant and finished his career 29-0. There is no one like him! I met him after the fight and told him 'people are crying to say goodbye to the most dominant champion in UFC history, but we have to celebrate afterwards'. He had a phenomenal career!” said Cormier.

'DC' continued praising his friend and reported that the Russian managed to retire in the same way as the entire AKA (American kickboxing Academy) imagined.

“Khabib was the only fighter who gave his all to the sport. He did his best at AKA, loves his family and takes care of his friends. He is correct and has always done what is right. There will never be anything bad associated with the name Khabib Nurmagomedov. He retired as we imagined: dedicated and undefeated. Khabib has always made the right choices. He is a champion inside and outside the Octagon”

Like Khabib, Cormier retired in 2020 and sent a loving message to his friend.

PUBLICITY:

“Be happy and rest, my friend. I know we will continue to see each other and talk, but the rest of the world will miss you so much,” he concluded.
