It only takes one year for everything to change and, in MMA, this is no different. Originally, Brian ortega e Chan sung jung they would fight in December 2019 and, at the time, the atmosphere between them was friendly. However, the sympathy they had no longer exists due to Jay Park, translator and manager of 'Korean zombie'. Provoked by a member of the opposing team, Ortega had said he would slap him if he found him and that was exactly what happened in the UFC 248, in March. From then on, more trash talk happened and, finally, the enemies will settle the score on October 17th. To the North American website MMA Junkie, 'T-City' informed that it expects a very violent fight and does not regret what happened that led to this whole situation.

“Basically, it will be carnage. With everything that happened between us, we want to hurt each other and I only see that happening, only in a technical way. What happened doesn't bother me. I don't see it as something that heavy. If a person talks nonsense, they will be charged. That's how I think. The Diaz brothers aren't the only ones with this mentality. If you act wrongly, you will be slapped. No matter how much you grow and try to improve, sometimes this happens. Normally, fighters respect each other, but we have lost respect for each other. If you want to consider this fight as something personal, it will be personal. This is another fighter that I don’t like and that I want to beat without going to jail,” said Ortega.

The winner of this fight will be in a great position in the race to be the challenger for the featherweight belt (65,8kg), but the fight between the rivals Zabit Magomedsharipov e Yair Rodriguez, a week later, is also important for the category. However, Ortega does not consider this duel to be so decisive.

“As far as I know, Dana White himself said that the winner of our fight will be the next challenger. I don't make the rules. I didn’t see him saying that about Zabit x Rodriguez, but rather about our fight”, he concluded.
