New bantamweight champion (up to 61,2kg.), Petr yan barely had time to rest from the victory over José Aldo, UFC 251, held last Saturday (11), in Abu Dhabi, and already has a strong rival 'knocking on its door'. Soon after delivering a hard knockout to the Brazilian, the Russian already had a challenge waiting on his social networks.

Upon learning of Cody's publication, Yan was ironic when responding to the American's attack. The Russian provoked the former category champion by criticizing the athlete's resistance.
"You're an idiot. He doesn’t have a chin”, replied Petr.

Finally, Garbrandt made the challenge itself, when he proposed a meeting at Yan's next challenge.
"Let's find out. You’re only tough when you have a camera”, he concluded.

Like the Russian, Cody is also coming off a great career victory. In his last appointment, in June, for UFC 250, the North American defeated the Brazilian Raphael Assunção, with a devastating knockout in the second round. The triumph ended a negative streak of three defeats. The positive result saw Garbrandt jump to fourth place in the bantamweight rankings.
