Former strawweight champion (up to 52,1kg.), Rose namajunas is close to returning to the octagon after the tough defeat suffered by Jessica Andrade, in August last year. Despite the setback and losing the division title, the North American points out that the negative result could positively influence the rematch against the Paraná native, which takes place this Saturday (11), at UFC 251.

“In the first fight, I had some confidence, but it wasn't very real. Now, I have real confidence, based on my preparation. Not just based on what I did before. Technically speaking, we fixed some flaws, but in the end, it's the mental part that comes with preparation. That's the biggest difference”, said Rose in a conversation with the press for 'Media Day', with the participation of SUPER FIGHTS.

Without focusing exclusively on the defeat to Jéssica, Namajunas states that the main thing for success this Saturday is to find within herself the athlete who conquered the world in 2017, when she beat the, until then, undisputed, Joanna Jędrzejczyk.

“I will be more me and I will try to show myself more like in my other fights, when I was me, but the 2020 version of that. New and improved”, said Rose.

Asked about how she sees the confrontation against 'Bate-Estaca', Namajunas preferred to respect her rival, but stated that she is prepared for any scenario.

“I always try to put an exclamation point on all my performances, but I'm fully prepared to fight 15 minutes (three rounds). 100% disciplined and focused,” she concluded.
