“He (Abdulmanap) regained consciousness today (Thursday). He hasn't spoken yet. Yesterday, he was in a coma after heart surgery,” Ramazan Rabadanov told '360 TV'.
Coach and mentor of the UFC lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg), Abdulmanap felt unwell while in the mountains of Dagestan (Russia). After the incident, the coach was taken to a local hospital and remained under observation for tests. The suspicion was that he had pneumonia.
After the illness was confirmed, Khabib's father's health worsened and he was transferred on a special plane to a medical center in Moscow. Abdulmanap's situation worsened when the coach reported heart problems, which resulted in surgery.
According to 'RT Sports', the professionals responsible for Nurmagomedov's case stated, last Wednesday (13), that the 57-year-old coach's situation was delicate.
Aware of the situation experienced by the Nurmagomedov family, UFC president Dana White, as well as Conor McGregor – Khabib’s great rival – sent messages of support to the Russian in this difficult time.
