In an interview with 'ESPN' in the United States, shortly after the event, Borrachinha spared no criticism of the fight. Furthermore, he didn't miss the chance to provoke Adesanya.
“That fight was sh*t. I'm ashamed. I knew. (Israel) Adesanya is scared. He's afraid of fighting big guys, strong guys, like (Yoel) Romero, me and Jon Jones. He challenged Jon Jones for a fight, Jon Jones accepted, Dana White agreed and Adesaya said: 'No, I need two years to train”, joked the Brazilian.
Paulo insisted on the idea that the Nigerian was intimidated by Romero, who managed to prevent the champion from putting on the show that fans are used to seeing.
"He is afraid. When he came face to face against a real tough guy he felt like: 'I can't go, I'm scared. I don’t care about it, but I’m sad about that fight”, concluded Borrachinha.
Recently, Dana White, president of Ultimate, confirmed that, regardless of the winner of the confrontation between Yoel and Israel, Paulo would be the next challenger for the belt title. It is now up to the Brazilian to wait for the date for the confrontation against the Nigerian.
