the Polish Joanna Jedrzejczyk and the chinese Weili Zhang were protagonists of one of the best fights of UFC 248, which took place this Saturday (7), in Las Vegas. The athletes competing for the strawweight title (up to 52,1 kg) engaged in a frank striking confrontation for five rounds. After the spectacle and confirmation that Zhang would retain her title, the Polish woman left the octagon with a deformed face (see below).

In the fight, Zhang landed strong counter strikes on Joanna. From the second round onwards, the Polish woman already had considerable swelling on her face, which increased as the fight went on. Even so, he continued until the end and balanced the dispute, however, it was overcome in the judges' split decision.

With the triumph, the Chinese confirmed her status as number one and was successful in her first title defense. Zhang won the belt by beating Jessica Andrade in the main fight of UFC Shenzhen, held in August last year.
