Donald Cerrone e To the fifth they promoted a great show for MMA fans last weekend. With an exciting five-round duel, Ultimate's management decided to reward the athletes with the 'Fight of the Night' bonus ($50) after UFC Ottawa, in Canada. With the victory, Cerrone achieved his third consecutive victory and remains in an excellent phase in the company.

Before the fight, 'Cowboy' was in eighth place in the lightweight rankings (up to 70,3kg), while his opponent was in fourth place. With this victory, Cerrone will possibly be able to enter the top 5 in the category and can once again dream of fighting for the title, if he continues to win.
After the end of the duel against Iaquinta, Cerrone returned to challenge Irishman Conor MgGregor, against whom a possible fight was speculated earlier this year. On the occasion, Conor made a point of going to social media and congratulating Donald on his great victory over the North American Alexander Hernandez, in January, and make public his desire to face him. Negotiations, however, did not progress due to the 'Notorious' exaggerated demands to return to the octagon.
At the time, the promotion of the fight between Conor and Cerrone could only be seen as a duel to raise money, considering that both enjoy a lot of prestige among fight fans and the UFC board. The situation, however, has changed a little. Currently, the duel, in addition to being financially favorable, makes sense when considering the position of the athletes in the organization's lightweight ranking. After UFC Ottawa, Cerrone is expected to move up in position, while McGregor is in third place.
In addition to the awards for the athletes in the main fight of the event, the performance of the heavyweight (up to 120,2kg.) Walt Harris, and bantam weight (up to 61,2 kg.), Macy chiasson, earned the athletes the 'Performance of the Night' award ($50) after both defeated their opponents by knockout.
