The Brazilian Peter Munhoz received a punishment of US$2,5 (around R$9,5) for jumping over the bars of the Octagon after his victory at UFC 235. The decision was taken at a hearing last Wednesday (24), and announced by 'MMA Fighting' website. Punishments of this type are carried out by the Nevada Athletic Commission in order to promote the physical integrity of athletes.

In addition to the initial monetary punishment, Pedro will also have to pay an amount of US$327,06 (approximately R$1,2) relating to the fee that must be paid for the fighter to once again be eligible in the company.
According to members of the Nevada Athletic Commission, the fighters received clear warnings in advance that, in the event of any such action, everyone involved would be duly penalized.
The judging committee even considered applying punishment to the Brazilian similar to that received by Khabib Nurmagomedov, who jumped from the octagon in order to hit one of the members of the Conor McGregor after the end of the main fight of UFC 229, in October last year. The athletic commission, however, realized that Pedro's intentions were not malicious, punishing the athlete, therefore, only financially.
After the excellent victory over the former bantamweight champion, cody garbrandt, the Brazilian already has a new appointment scheduled. Munhoz will face the North American aljamain sterling No. UFC 238, in June.
Pedro currently occupies fourth place in the bantamweight division, one behind his next opponent. Munhoz, 32 years old, has a record of 22 fights, 18 wins, three losses and one fight without result.
