“The School of Excellence, Crumlin Boxing Club. The school of hard knocks for amateurs. But a school of excellence for everyone who has been here. True Irish, tough men and women. This place has never revealed a weak fighter. What a place.”, published Conor.
The event took place with the aim of raising funds for the training of new boxing fighters. In his surprise appearance, McGregor had been announced under the name 'A. Another'. In the fight, the 'Notorious' dueled for four rounds. At the end, the fight referee raised the arms of both combatants, announcing a draw.
The Irishman became well known in the world of noble art after managing to fight against the legendary multi-world boxing champion Floyd Mayweather, in 2017. On that occasion, the two athletes won millionaire figures in a duel that took place in Las Vegas (USA). In the clash, Conor was defeated by knockout in the 10th round.
Last month, McGregor was at the center of a major controversy involving the Russian, Khabib Nurmagomedov. The two offended each other on their social networks, promoting a regrettable moment of personal attacks. Conor, in the same month, announced his retirement from MMA. A few days later, however, he backtracked and hinted that he could, indeed, return to fight for the UFC.
The Irishman's last appearance took place in October last year, when he was defeated by Khabib via submission in a fight for the lightweight belt (under 70,3kg), at UFC 229, in Las Vegas (USA). Since then, the athlete has dedicated himself to promoting his whiskey brand and, from time to time, creating controversy on social media.
