Another confusion involving a UFC athlete and the police. The English Darren till, former challenger for the company's welterweight (under 77kg) title, and four friends were arrested after vandalizing a hotel room in Spain and trying to steal a taxi there. The news was reported by the Spanish newspaper, 'El dia'. The athlete and his teammates were in Tenerife, a large island located off the northwest coast of Africa.

According to information, Till was staying in a hotel and was expelled along with his friends for breaking furniture in a room at the establishment and emptying fire extinguishers. The fighter was promptly expelled from the place and, when they tried to register at another hotel, they were not accepted. At this point, they requested a taxi and, as the driver placed the luggage in the trunk, the suspects took control of the vehicle and attempted to escape, being captured and detained a few moments later by the local police.
Darren, 26 years old, is from Liverpoll, England, and debuted in the UFC in 2015. Since then, he has had eight fights for the organization, having been defeated on two occasions. Till even challenged for the welterweight title in September last year, when he was defeated by the former champion Tyron woodley by submission in the second round.
So far, it is not known whether Darren remains in detention or has been released by authorities. The fighter has not yet commented on what happened.
