The atmosphere heated up at the ceremonial weigh-in UFC 236, an event that takes place next Saturday (13), in Atlanta (USA). Protagonists of the main fight, Max Holloway e Dustin poirier They had a tough look at their last engagement before stepping into the Octagon.
Poirier was the first to go on stage and weighed 70,1 kg, 200 grams below the category limit. Holloway, who moves up from featherweight (up to 65,7 kg), reached exactly 70,3 kg, the division limit.
At the time of the traditional face-off, the athletes faced each other, with closed faces and almost touched each other.
“Our first fight is a long time ago. This is a different fight, but tomorrow I will come back to become the champion”, said Poirier, remembering the first meeting between them, at UFC 143, in 2012, when he submitted his rival with a triangle choke.
“I'm going to take advantage of his mistakes, and tomorrow I'll be champion,” replied Holloway, who already has the featherweight belt.
Gastelum x Adesanya
In the other title fight of the night, the interim middleweight (up to 84 kg.), Kelvin Gastelum e Israel adesanya they had a calmer outlook.
Adesanya, who is 18cm taller, looked down. Gastelum made a point of smiling at his rival's stance.

In addition to the two title fights, the UFC 236 highlights the participation of three Brazilians. Poliana Botelho he reached the flyweight limit and weighed 56,7 kg. Her rival, Lauren Mueller, needed a pound of tolerance – around 454 grams – to confirm the dispute, weighing 57,2 kg.
