The controversy occurred when Masvidal was giving an interview to ESPN in the USA. At this moment, Edwards passed through the corridor provoking his rival. The North American interrupted his response to the reporter and went towards the Englishman with his arms behind him. When he approached, the two exchanged punches until they were restrained by Ultimate's security guards (see the video below).
UFC analyzes images
Dave Shaw, international vice-president of Ultimate, the organization's main leader in UFC London, revealed that prosecutors are analyzing the images and possible punishments are not ruled out.
“They showed me the video behind the scenes. I don't know if (Masvidal) was instigated. From what I saw in the video he seems to be reacting to something, that's all the details I know. It's difficult to comment on something I haven't seen. Let's deal with it. Dana (White, UFC president) is seeing all of this and we’ll see what happens,” he said.
