“I love his [Thiago Santos] fighting style. I would love to see him fight with Jon Jones”, said White when talking about the possible fight.
Since moving up to the light heavyweight division, Marreta has had three fights with impressive performances that surprised the franchise commander. White believes that in a possible duel with Jones, Thiago will be aggressive and will not be intimidated by the champion.
“Thiago looks unbelievable at this weight, he's big, I like his fighting style, and when you put Jon Jones In this type of fight, he shines. Jones is kind of one of those guys who rises to his opponent's level... I think Thiago Santos is going to be one of those guys who comes aggressive and advances. He offers a fighting style that you are used to seeing Jones do,” concluded Dana.
Before UFC 235, Jon Jones appointed the Brazilian as the next challenger for the category title. “He is doing very well, performing very well. I see him being a challenger for the division title soon. I'm here waiting for the best fighters in the world, and he's proving to be one of them”, praised Jones.
