Brazil started UFC Fight Night Prague, this Saturday afternoon (23), with a 50% success rate against the Russians: one victory and one defeat. The Amazonian Carlos Diego Ferreira He opened the proceedings in style and beat Russian Rustam Khabilov by the judges' decision (30-27, 29-28, 30-27). The result made the lightweight aim for a position in the top-15 of the category. Meanwhile, welterweight from Pará Michel Trator was surprised by Ismail Naurdiev and fell in the decision (30-27, 30-26, 30-27).

From the first minute, Carlos Diego showed that he studied Rustam Khabilov's game. The Brazilian walked forward, putting pressure on the Russian and preventing him from working to score points. Furthermore, the Amazon native showed excellent takedown defense, frustrating all the attacks in which his rival tried to take the fight to the ground. Only in the final 30 seconds did Khabilov manage to take the fight to the ground, but Carlos Diego reversed the position in a sensational way and ended the partial with a clamp on the Russian's back, with the rear-naked choke locked in. But Rustan was saved by the bell.
In the second round, Khabilov set Carlos Diego's entry times and made the Brazilian's pressure game difficult. Even so, the Amazonian continued to avoid falling entries well and move forward. However, this time, he encountered resistance from his rival and good counterattacks. In the final seconds the duel heated up again: the Russian managed a takedown, but Ferreira managed to get up quickly and land a straight jab combination that shook Khabilov.
After a balanced partial, Carlos Diego came back better in the third round. The Brazilian chased the Russian around the Octagon, throwing punches and kicks. In turn, Khabilov tried in every possible way to take him down, however Ferreira did not accept his rival's game and kept the fight standing and struck well with his rival clamped on his legs.
Carlos Diego still ended the fight by hitting Khabilov on the railing to win the judges' decision.

Michel Trator's rise from welterweight stopped at Russian Ismail Naurdiev. The Brazilian, who had eight consecutive victories in Ultimate, was unable to overcome the newcomer who was rushed into the fight.
Facing a taller rival, Trator avoided the stand-up fight in the early stages and looked for a takedown. However, the Russian showed good defense and thwarted attempts with his legs. Naurdiev surprised the Brazilian when he connected with a beautiful kick to Michel's head. The man from Pará 'swallowed' the blow and still managed to take the fight to the ground. However, still feeling the attack received, Trator was quickly swept. He hit from the top and even tried a rear naked choke, which was well defended.
With the disadvantage in the previous round, Trator returned to the second round ready to even the dispute. But Naurdiev works with his feet to keep the Brazilian in the middle distance. In Michel's best moment in the partial he took the Russian to the ground, however, he was swept again. On top, Ismail just stopped the fight and the referee returned the fight to the center of the cage. Starting in the final minute, Trator was already showing fatigue and was unable to find the strength to impose his power game.
The third round returned at a lighter pace. With the fighters tired, the Russian managed the fight without taking any risks in the first half. Almost in desperation, Trator attacked his rival's leg, but Naurdiev fell on top to the ground. The Brazilian still reversed the position, but Ismail got up afterwards. He also kneed Trator in the head, which he felt. The debutant hit the Pará native's head on the ground and he barely resisted to avoid being knocked out.
