Ultimate has scaled Israel adesanya e Kelvin Gastelum to measure strength for the interim middleweight belt. The fight will take place on April 13th, with no location yet defined. The information was given first-hand by the website of the North American channel ESPN on Tuesday (19).

The winner of the clash must face Robert whittaker for the unification of the middleweight title in August, without a defined date and location. The division's linear champion would go on to face Gastelum at UFC 234, but was withdrawn at the last minute of the event after being diagnosed with an abdominal hernia. He underwent surgery, is recovering and is expected to return in the second half of 2019.
The North American comes from two victories over the champion Michael Bisping e Ronaldo Jacare and occupies fourth place in the middleweight rankings. Gastelum returned to the middleweight category in December 2016, when he knocked out Tim Kennedy at UFC 206. Since then, there have been five fights and three victories that have qualified him to compete for the division title.
Israel adesanya is experiencing the best moment of his professional MMA career after the unanimous decision victory over Anderson Silva in the main fight of UFC 234. The Nigerian started his career in kickboxing and debuted in mixed martial arts in 2012. Since then he has starred in 16 fights and emerged victorious in all of them.
