Michael Page defeats Paul Daley and advances to the semifinals in the Bellator welterweight GP

Those who expected the main fight of Bellator 216 to end with a knockout were disappointed. The exchangers, Michael Page and Paul Daley had a tactical and balanced clash. At the end of the duel, 'Venom' was declared the winner by unanimous decision of the judges. With the triumph, the Englishman secured a place in the semi-finals of the welterweight GP. The event took place in Uncasville, Connecticut (USA), last Saturday (16).

In the semi-final of the welterweight GP, Page will face the Brazilian and former champion of the category Douglas lima. On the other side of the key, Neiman Gracie awaits the winner of the fight between Rory McDonald and Jon Fitch, which takes place in April.

The co-main event featured a rematch between heavyweights Mirko Cro Cop and Roy Nelson. In the first confrontation, 'Big Country' knocked out his rival in the third round of UFC 137 in October 2011. In the giants' reunion, the Croatian got revenge and beat the North American by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28).

Erick Silva loses on debut

Erick silva made his Bellator debut against Yaroslav Amosov. The Brazilian started well, but ‘Dynamo’ dominated the fight on the main card. Thus, the Ukrainian won by unanimous decision. In his second fight after leaving the UFC, ‘Tiger’ recorded his first defeat.
