Israel adesanya will have the most important fight of his career in the octagon of Ultimate Melbourne (AUS) next Saturday (09). In addition to giving you the biggest challenge of your career in MMA, UFC 234 will be remembered in your history for having faced your idol, Anderson Silva. In an interview with the Combate channel website, the young fighter admitted that beating 'Spider' is more important than becoming champion.

“For me it is something very big. Win Anderson Silva It represents more to me than beating the champion or winning the belt. I'm really looking forward to this fight. This guy made me believe that it was possible to fight, he inspired me to get into MMA”, said the Nigerian.
An avowed Anderson fan, Israel said that when he was a child he wanted to be like the Brazilian and tried to imitate him. As a professional fighter he wants to show that he is not a 'copy', but that he has his own style.
“Yes, I am definitely a fan of his. I used to imitate him when I was a kid. I wanted to be like him. But I'm not a child anymore. Now I'm a man, I have my own style. I'm still his fan, but it's normal”, declared 'Last Stylebender'.
Adesanya said he knew that Anderson had to beat him to fight for the middleweight belt again. However, the Nigerian has other plans for the fight with 'Spider'.
“He thinks he can beat me, fight whoever has the belt and hang up his gloves. But I have other plans. After this fight, he will know that he faced the best fighter he could face, which is me”, concluded Israel.
At 29, Israel adesanya remains undefeated after 15 fights in his professional career. The Nigerian debuted in Ultimate in February 2018 and has had four fights since then. After his good performances, 'Last Stylebender' achieved sixth place in the organization's middleweight rankings.
