Joanne calderwood dominou Ariane Lipski nos três rounds e venceu a brasileira por decisão unânime no UFC Brooklyn, sábado (19). Em entrevista coletiva após evento, o presidente do Ultimate, Dana White enalteceu a boa apresentação de ‘JoJo’ em Nova York. No entanto, o mandatário da organização não parece estar convencido de que ela mereça disputar o título dos mosca neste momento e escalou Jessica Eye as the next opponent of Valentina Shevchenko.
“At first, we said we would fight (for the flyweight belt) with Jessica Eye. I think Eye is next. […] Lipski, coming off nine straight wins, world champion in another organization, with a lot of hype behind her… We pitted her against a cunning and audacious veteran. (Calderwood) showed what he was capable of and was incredible tonight. 'Jojo' was incredible. She had the perfect fight,” said White.
Eye is ranked first in the women's flyweight rankings. Jessica comes from three consecutive victories in Ultimate. In her last engagement, the North American won Katlyn chookagian by points at UFC 231 in December last year. 'Evil' has 20 fights in his career, with 14 triumphs and six setbacks.
Calderwood occupies 10th place in the category ranking. She has two consecutive victories in the organization over the Brazilians, Kalindra Faria and Lipski. 'JoJo' has a record of 16 fights, with 13 triumphs and three setbacks.
