Brazilians Marlon Sandro and Alexandre Popó won their fights at Bellator 60, an event held last Friday (9), in the United States, in the first phase of the organization's featherweight GP. Now, with a guaranteed place in the semi-finals, the Tupiniquin athletes will measure their strength in a fight valid for the semi-final of the tournament. The official announcement was made this Monday, although the date of the duel has not yet been confirmed.
With a record of 21 wins and three losses, Marlon Sandro finished in the first phase of the GP. The athlete from the Nova União team took no notice of Roberto Vargas and submitted his opponent with a rear naked choke in the first round. In turn, Alexandre Popó has a professional record of 13 victories and only one setback. And like his compatriot, he also finished with a rear naked choke in the GP quarterfinals. He got past Kenny Foster, getting the choke in the third round.
The other semifinal of the GP will be in charge of Daniel Strauss and Mike Corey, who will face each other in search of a place in the final of the tournament.
