Tyron Woodley plans to face Colby Covington after beating Kamaru Usman

Confident of the triumph over the 'Nigerian Nightmare', the welterweight champion stated that he should face 'Chaos' in June this year

Tyron woodley will make his fifth defense of the welterweight belt against Kamaru Usman at UFC 235, March 02nd, in Las Vegas (USA). Confident of victory over the 'Nigerian Nightmare', 'Chose One' is already thinking about his next fight. In an interview with the North American website TMZ Sports, the champion stated that he must face Colby covington in sequence.

“I have to recognize that at some point I’m going to face all these guys. Obviously the world wants to see me fighting Colby (Covington), but he's trying to call the shots, but he's not the champion to do that. So I'll fight Kamaru Usmam and we'll see what happens next. I will most likely get Colby soon after,” said Woodley.

The welterweight champion confirmed that he is confident with his training to face Usman. He also confessed that he will use old weapons to beat his rival in the March fight.

“This fight (against Usman) will be promoted as a striking match, but if he dares to punch me in the face, he will want to wrestle with me (laughs). I feel confident for this fight, I feel good about the preparation camp. I'm bringing my old weapons to bring victory. Yes, I will fight Colby after this, probably in June”, concluded Colby.

Tyron woodley has been welterweight champion since 2016, when he knocked out Robbie Lawler at UFC 201. Since then there have been four successful title defenses. In his last commitment, Chose One finalized Darren till in September 2018 at UFC 228. The fighter has 23 fights in his career with 19 wins, three setbacks and one draw.
