Boxing: Myke Carvalho gets 6th place in Beijing boxing

This Wednesday, Brazilian Myke Carvalho obtained Brazil's sixth Olympic spot in the boxing tournament at the Beijing Games by defeating Argentine Gumersindo Carrasco in the Pre-Olympic Tournament in Guatemala.

With the last day of Pre-Olympic boxing competitions in Guatemala City, the Brazilian team fulfilled the goal set for Beijing: increasing the delegation for the last edition of the Games.

In Athens 2004, there were five boxers. In China, there will be six, including two veterans, Washington Silva (81 kg) and Myke Carvalho (64 kg), who completed the team with the last ranking in the tournament. Paulo Carvalho (48 kg), Robenilson Vieira (51 kg), Robson Conceição (57 kg) and Everton Lopes (60 kg) are also classified.
