Interview with Leonardo Peçanha: “The one who won’t forget this fight will be Jorge Santiago”

The 2st edition of the Titan Fighting Championship takes place this Friday (21), in Texas. The main attraction of the show will be the Brazilians Jorge Santiago and Leonardo Peçanha. But before the confrontation, Peçanha spoke with the SUPER FIGHTS and talked about his life in the United States, about his career and even teased Jorge Santiago: “I'm not going to forget this fight, because it will be another victory on my record”.

You are coming off a victory at Campos Combat, in Campos dos Goytacazes, how was the victory in your city?

Thank God I managed to do my job well and submitted my opponent in the first minute of the fight. I was very happy, not only for the victory, but also for the fact that I was fighting at home.

And the fight against Jorge Santiago? What do you expect from the confrontation?

Expectations are the best. I'm well trained, focused and most importantly for a fighter: I'm fine with myself! Faced with this, I only have one thing to say, I will win! I don't know how or how long. I've fought a lot of tough fighters, and I'm also experienced, after all I have 22 MMA fights and more than 1000 jiu-jitsu fights (Laughs)

Jorge Santiago said you won't forget this fight. What do you think of this statement?

I really don't care what he says, because that's what everyone says when they're defeated. I understand that, it serves to boost your own ego. I'm glad he's prepared because I certainly will be too. And I don't intend to forget it because it will be another victory on my record

On March 17th, you will arrive in Campos again for another fight in the city, tell me a little about this commitment and is the focus for this year on MMA?

So far nothing has been finalized, but it's likely that I'll fight in camps on the 17th. Rodrigo (Riscado) has already made the invitation, but I'm focused on the fight against Jorge Santiago. After this fight we'll see what happens.

How are training and life in the United States?

Training is getting better every day and life is perfect: wife, children and jiu-jitsu! It's all I need
