Anderson Silva was scheduled to face Israel adesanya at UFC 234, February 9, in Melbourne, Australia. If 'Last Stylebender' wins, Ultimate President Dana White guaranteed that the Brazilian will have the chance to fight for the middleweight belt. With just three fights left on his contract, 'Spider' admitted he will fulfill his contract and retire.

“I have three more fights and it’s over,” Anderson said at a press conference at his gym.
In this time he still has left in Ultimate, Anderson plans to win the middleweight belt and a superfight with Conor McGregor.
“I talk to UFC president Dana [White] about Georges St-Pierre and Conor McGregor. Especially Conor because this fight is a challenge. I talk to Dana a lot about the fight, which is very interesting. He's an incredible fighter and a legend in this sport and we'll see. It’s a good game, super factors, and it’s very interesting for my fans”, explained Silva.
Even with the big difference in weight, the Brazilian believes that a fight at catchweight of 81,6kg would work well for both fighters. Remembering that Conor belongs to the lightweight category (up to 70kg) and Anderson to the middleweight category (up to 84,1kg).
“I believe 180 pounds [81,6] is good for me and McGregor. So I just wait because I don't control it. That's the question for Dana, but maybe this will be an incredible fight for the fans,” said Spider.
Anderson Silva has a professional record of 34 wins and eight losses. The Brazilian is the greatest middleweight champion, he held the belt for 1783 days and made 14 defenses of the category title. The last time he stepped into the Octagon, at UFC 208 in February 2017, Spider defeated Derek Brunson in the unanimous decision of the judges.
