Just as it did in Brazil, when it was away from the country for more than 10 years and returned with great interest from the public, Ultimate also does not hide its desire to conquer the Japanese market, where the organization is holding UFC 144 this Saturday, in the city of Saitama . Enthusiastic about the repercussion of the event, the show's directors are full of praise for the market and the Japanese public.

“It's exciting, the first UFC event in Japan since 2000. I love it here, I'm really excited to come back because it's a place where a lot of big organizations have held events,” said UFC president Dana White, referencing the grandiose events like Pride and Heros are now extinct.

In turn, the executive director of UFC in Asia, Mark Fisher, said that there is a possibility of Japan hosting more Ultimate events, such as Fight Night and The Ultimate Fighter. He considers that the Japanese will be one of the biggest consumers of the organization's brand in the near future, as occurred in Brazil and Canada, in addition to the United States and some European countries.

“We’ll wait and see, but we’ve seen a lot of buzz around the event, with big ticket sales. It is an upcoming market that could host a major event, at least annually. Or maybe with one or two smaller events, like Fight Night. And there's really good potential for The Ultimate Fighter, perhaps in a slightly different format,” Fisher emphasized.
