In the post, Poliana admitted that the weight loss to continue in the 52,7kg division was affecting her health and training. For this reason, the fighter chose to move up to the flyweight category (57 kg). Furthermore, she guaranteed that this way she will be able to do more fights during the year.
Poliana made her UFC debut at UFC 216 in October 2017 when she beat Pearl Gonzalez via unanimous decision. In her second fight, the Brazilian overpowered Syuri Kondo with a knockout in just 33 seconds. She has a record of nine fights, seven wins and two losses.

And so I finish another stage of my life, or rather, I reinvent myself in this new stage of my life! At first everyone thought it was impossible for me to weigh 52,7kg but with my medical and nutritional team we proved that this was possible, I had three fights and I always weighed below the limit but we had a decision even before the fight in Argentina, that we would move up to the flyweight. Firstly because of my health, which I was already putting at risk and which was already hindering my training. Today through this post I inform you that my next fight will be in the flyweight division up to 57kg and with this I will be able to fight more times a year, without affecting my health. I will come back stronger. Keep cheering!
