Conor McGregor was at a hearing on Wednesday (28) at the Naas District Court in Ireland. However, the former lightweight and featherweight champion was not called up due to the confusion at UFC 229, but rather because he was caught speeding. 'Notorious' was caught in October 2017 driving at 154km/h in an area where the maximum speed is 96km/h. After pleading guilty, the Irishman had his driver's license revoked for six months and paid a fine of €4.377 (R$XNUMX).

In addition to speeding, McGregor was charged with three other traffic violations: driving without a license, failing to present a license at the scene, and failing to present the document later at a police station.

After showing the driver's license to the court, the three charges involving the document were dropped.

“I didn’t know it was going so fast,” Conor told Irish channel RTÉ News.

According to Naas District Court McGregor has 12 previous convictions for traffic offences. These include: speeding, driving while holding a cell phone, driving in a bus lane and running a red light.
