alistair overeem knocked out Sergey Pavlovich at 4:21 in the first round of the UFC Beijing co-main event. Thus, the former heavyweight title challenger recovered from a sequence of two defeats. With his impressive triumph, the Dutchman challenged Francis Ngannou for a rematch and promised that it will be a different fight than the first.

“I have a lot of respect for Francis Ngannou, but yes I am ready for a second fight with him. I can promise that the second fight will be different from the first. I made changes to my camp and I feel very motivated. The rematch will be different from the first. I guarantee that,” Overeem said at a press conference after UFC Beijing.

The meeting between the heavyweights took place in December 2017. At the time, the Dutchman was knocked out by the Cameroonian with a left uppercut in the first round.

At 38 years old, Overeem has 62 fights in his record, 44 wins, as well as 17 defeats and one unsuccessful fight. The Dutchman was eliminated from Strikeforce, Dream and the K-1 World Grand Prix. In September 2016, he had the chance to win the UFC heavyweight belt by facing Stipe Miocic. However, the fighter was knocked out at 4:27 of the first round.
