Rizzin Fighting Federation surprised by announcing the signing of Floyd Mayweather at a press conference. The Asian organization also stated that the boxer would face Tenshin Nasukawa. Later, 'Money' denied that the fight would happen. In an interview with the North American channel TMZ Sports, the boxer went back and stated that the duel with the Japanese will take place.
Mayweather explained that the confrontation with Nasukawa will be a boxing exhibition. Initially it was speculated that the duel would take place in MMA or kickboxing.
“It’s just going to be a little boxing exhibition. No kicks, none. I’m going to move with the guy for nine minutes, and it’s going to be the highest paid exhibition in history,” said Floyd.
According to Mayweather, the nine-minute performance will earn him a seven-figure sum.
“It will be the highest paid exhibition in history, but just by promoting this event, I have already received seven figures. Just by talking about the event, I already made crazy money. Everyone says I'm going to fight a little guy, people are saying that Floyd is going to fight because he needs money... But Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Oprah, are still out there doing different things and being very well paid financially! As I said, I'm far from needing money. I have a lot of money,” concluded Mayweather.
Floyd Mayweather has a record of 50 fights and 50 wins. 'Money' came out of retirement three times. The last one was to fight McGregor in August 2017. The boxer knocked out the Irishman at 1m05s of R10 and won a $100 purse.
