Bahraini Sheikh confronts fan with Down syndrome ahead of Brave 18

Brave 18 only takes place next Friday (16). However, the company prepared an entire week to celebrate combat sports, with International Combat Week. And, this Sunday (11), the second edition of ICW will begin in a very special way. Patron of Brave CF, Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa accepted a great challenge for the opening of ICW: he will face Mohammed Buhaza, a Down syndrome sufferer and athlete at KHK MMA, a gym founded by Sheikh Khalid himself, in an exhibition.

Buhaza, 19 years old, is passionate about MMA and has been a source of inspiration for KHK MMA athletes, since he started taking classes with some of Brave's main names, such as lightweight Eldar Eldarov, head coach at the Bahraini gym. . Upon learning that Sheikh Khalid had already fought in amateur MMA, Mohammed made a point of asking for a “fight”.

The challenge was accepted and the “fight” will take place at the opening ceremony of International Combat Week, when dignitaries from across the region will be present for the start of the festivities, which also mark the beginning of the amateur MMA world championship organized in conjunction with IMMAF ( International MMA Federation).

The sparring session is part of the efforts created by KHK Heroes, a global initiative that seeks to help the needy population and those with special needs through sport and which will also be officially launched during International Combat Week.
