In his last UFC performance, in January 2011, Thiago Silva dominated Brandon Vera at UFC 125 and won the duel via unanimous decision by the judges. The result caused the North American to be fired the following week after the event. However, the Brazilian fighter was caught in an anti-doping test of the Nevada Athletic Commission, the result of the match was changed to No Contest (without result), Thiago was suspended for 12 months and Vera was rehired by the organization. Now, after so many controversies and with the Tupiniquim athlete released from the hook, the fighters will once again measure their strength.
This Thursday, Ultimate announced that Thiago Silva and Brandon Vera will meet again at UFC on FX 3, an event scheduled for May 15, in Fairfax, in the United States.
With a record of 14 wins and two losses, Thiago is looking for redemption in the UFC after his doping problem. In turn, Vera, who has a professional record of 12 wins and five losses, is coming off a triumph in the organization. The American beat Eliot Marshall at UFC 137, held in October 2011
