Without fighting since August 2016, when he lost the rematch to Conor McGregor, Nate diaz had his return to the octagon announced for November, when he would face Dustin poirier at UFC 230 – an injury to his rival, however, left him without an opponent. One solution, then, would be to find a new challenge for the American bad boy, right? Not for Dana White, president of Ultimate.

According to the director, Nate's return will not be treated as a priority, as the organization has already offered options to the fighter, who did not agree to any. From now on, according to Dana, the subject no longer interests him as it used to.

“I am no longer interested in doing the Nate diaz fight until Diaz himself comes to tell me he's dying to fight. We're going to offer new fights, we always do, we've probably offered this kid 50 fights since he faced Conor. When he is ready to fight, he will inform us”, declared the president, in an interview with ESPN.

Always controversial, Nate diaz He always had a strong personality, accumulating friction with his bosses. For Dana, the athlete's attitudes harm coexistence and his own image.

“He wanted a fight, we arranged a fight, announced the fight, and immediately he started saying he wasn't going to fight. We had a guy here at the company who was a big fan of Nate diaz, a big fan of Nick Diaz and wanted to work with them. He’s not as enthusiastic as he used to be,” concluded White.
