Raulian explained that he was provoked by a group of people after a man tried to harass his girlfriend. “When they retreated, I got on the motorbike and went home with my girlfriend. When the light turned, I slowed down and they caught me. I didn't see that they were following me, I only realized that the car was going to crash when the reflection of the headlight hit my rear view mirror. I didn't imagine it was them. When I saw that the vehicle was going to hit (the motorcycle), I tried to take as much as possible to get more on myself than on my girlfriend. They came at very high speed,” said Raulian in an interview with the Combate channel website.

On Monday (22), those suspected of running over the couple had preventive detention ordered by the Amapá Court. They were taken to the Penitentiary Administration (Iapen).
