Former UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell is out of UFC-85, which takes place on June 7th in London, England. The “Iceman” suffered a serious injury to his right thigh during training to face Rashad evans, in what would be the main fight of the night.
“Unfortunately, Chuck Liddell suffered a serious injury to his right thigh during training last week, and being the warrior that he is, he still wanted to fight, which is why everyone loves him,” said UFC President Dana White . “But I wouldn’t let anyone fight with one leg. May he heal and come back and fight when he is 100 percent”, added the all-powerful UFC fighter.
Liddell was originally scheduled to face the Brazilian Mauricio Shogun, but the former Pride champion suffered a knee injury and had to withdraw from the event. being replaced by Rashad evans. Now the Ultimate organization is looking for a new opponent for Evans.
