Khabib Nurmagomedov won Conor McGregor via submission in the main event of UFC 229 earlier this month. After the fight ended, the Russian jumped out of the octagon and attacked the Irishman's training partner, Dillon Danis. Seconds later, 'Notorious' was attacked by 'Eagle's' teammates. It was an unexpected end to the organization's most anticipated event. In an interview with the North American channel ESPN, the president of the franchise, Dana White stated that many members of the MMA community condemned the widespread fight, however, he was the only one who was really bothered by what happened.

“For me personally, all the work I put into this I put into the last 20 years of my life… I didn’t want it to be like that. I was upset about it. I was the only one. No one else cared,” White assured.

Even though he was disappointed with the fight, White recognized how quickly his team managed to control the chaos.

“We had this thing contained in less than 40 seconds. I made the decision not to put the belt on [Nurmagomedov] inside the octagon because I didn't think it was safe, I didn't think we would get a good reaction from the fans. We got everyone out of there OK. No fans were hurt, no one was injured. No one was hurt in this thing and we reported it pretty quickly,” concluded Dana.
