UFC on Fox 2 only takes place this Saturday, in Chicago, but the organizers of the show and the North American TV broadcaster are already starting to think about the third edition of the event. Earlier this Wednesday, UFC president Dana White announced via Twitter that the lightweights Jim Miller e Nate diaz will face each other in the fight program scheduled for May 5th, in New Jersey, in the United States.
The fight could give the winner the opportunity to compete for the category belt against Frankie Edgar, current champion, and Ben henderson, who will face each other at UFC 144 in Japan.
Both Miller and Diaz are experiencing good times in their careers. Jim, who submitted Melvin Guillard last weekend, has eight wins in his last nine appearances in the octagon. Nate, since returning to the lightweight division, doesn't know what it's like to lose. The Brazilian César Gracie's pupil comes from important victories over renowned athletes such as Takanori Gomi and Donald Cerrone.
