Khabib Nurmagomedov finished Conor McGregor with a rear naked choke in the main fight of UFC 229, on October 06th in Las Vegas (USA). After the fight ended, the Russian attacked 'Notorious' teammate Dilon Danis. With the confusion, the Russian's friends entered the octagon to attack 'The Eagle's' arch-rival. However, at this moment, no one noticed the entry into the cage of an Irish fan who went to help his compatriot during the widespread fight.

The video shows the moment when David Martin climbs into the octagon and approaches McGregor. In the TV broadcast, the Irishman appears alongside Dana White, while talking to McGregor.
In an interview with the North American website USA Today, David Martin admitted that he was overcome by a sense of patriotism and set out to defend Conor.
“I wouldn’t say that adrenaline took over, I would say that patriotism took over first. I thought Russia was attacking Ireland. I thought a bunch of Russians were coming in and this guy (McGregor) was tired and beat up from the fight, and was being attacked by what I thought were a bunch of Russian fans. I needed to intervene. I was thinking that my country was calling for me immediately. I’m disappointed that I didn’t get there faster,” said Martin.
The Irishman assumed that not even with all his technique, Conor could not dodge a 'fatal blow'. “In reality, if that guy who hit Conor in the head had hit him in a different spot, like the back center of the head, it could have been a fatal blow and Conor could have been dead. It happens all the time in clubs, someone gets punched in the back of the head and it's a fatal blow. Just because you are Conor McGregor It doesn't mean something like this can't happen to you. I thought Conor could get killed and those guys would kill him, and that's what I couldn't let happen,” concluded David.

That was me 👍🏻☘ Someone once said, when I go to war, we all go to war. @dc_mma you missed the bit about me on your back for the first 30 sec. You're a wide strong guy. Thanks for listening to me at that intense moment. pic.twitter.com/XVwlet3Nb0
