UFC on Fx: Morango makes his UFC debut with victory

After a bad first stint in the UFC, with a draw and a defeat, Brazilian Fabrício Morango returned to the biggest MMA organization in the world in style. In action at UFC on FX 1, an event held this Friday (20), in Nashville, in the United States, the black belt from Brazil needed just over four minutes to put his jiu-jitsu into practice and end the contest. Facing the previously undefeated Tom Hayden, Morango, after a quick exchange, took down his opponent and worked on his ground game, reaching the North American's back and locking in a tight rear-naked choke.

“He surprised me, but my ground game is very good,” said Morango after the victory. The fighter also asked for a chance to work in Brazil. “It was my first victory, I hope to have the chance to fight in Brazil… Rio is my city, I want to fight there”, he added.

In the main fight of the night, between Jim Miller and Melvin Guillard, lived up to the responsibility of closing the card and did not disappoint. Guillard started in an amazing way and with better striking he knocked Miller down. But the North American, who showed good absorption of blows, proved why he is considered one of the best in the world in the lightweight category. After taking Melvin down, taking advantage of one of his opponent's flying knees, Jim quickly took his back and secured the rear naked choke, winning the fight at the end of the first round.
