Ultimate has new plans to fight for the vacant women's flyweight belt. After announcing last week that Valentina Shevchenko would face the newcomer sijara eubanks for the number 1 position, the organization went back and announced, for the second time, that Valentina will compete for the world title against Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC 231, scheduled for December 8th, in Toronto, Canada. This is the second time the duel has been scheduled for the card.

Without fighting since February this year, when the Brazilian submitted Priscila Pedrita at UFC Belém, Shevchenko was scheduled to fight for the division's belt against former champion Nicco Montaño, at UFC 228, last September. However, Nicco had problems cutting weight and was removed from the card shortly before the event. As a result, the organization removed the fighter's belt and left the title vacant. Bullet has already competed in six fights in Ultimate, totaling four wins and two losses, both to the Brazilian bantamweight champion Amanda nunes. In total, his record includes 15 triumphs and three setbacks.
Former strawweight champion, Jedrzejczyk was dethroned in November 2017, when she lost by technical knockout to Rose namajunas, breaking a series of five title defenses. The rematch took place in April this year, but the Pole was again beaten, this time by points. Last July, she recovered by hitting Tecia torres in the unanimous decision of the judges, reaching the mark of 15 wins and two losses as a professional.
