Khabib Nurmagomedov was the main protagonist of the widespread fight that occurred after the confrontation with Conor McGregor at UFC 229. The Russian attacked Dillon Danis, the Irishman's corner and coach, and soon after his teammates beat the Irishman. In criticizing the organization, 'Eagle' manager Ali Abdelaziz stated that the franchise used images of the confusion at UFC 223 to promote the duel between them. However, the commander, Dana White, saw no errors or excesses in promoting combat.

In an interview with the North American newspaper USA Today, Abdelaziz justified Khabib's attack on Danis due to the way the organization publicized the event. “Let's be realistic. The UFC promoted this fight with videos. They didn't promote it like going to a golf tournament. They promoted it as a fight,” said the businessman.
During the First Take program on the North American channel ESPN, the UFC president was asked if he was responsible for the confusion on Saturday (06). In response, he assured that he promoted the confrontation the way it should be done.
“Silliest quote I’ve ever heard in my life. Whoever wrote this is an idiot. This is a fight. The way we promoted this fight was exactly the way this thing happened. This is all part of the plot”, said Dana.
White also stated that match promotions have been carried out in the same way for almost 20 years. Rivalry and hatred between fighters has always been used as a way to promote duels.
“Believe me, I’ve been doing this for almost 20 years. We've had a lot of fights with tons of bad blood, all kinds of things happen and, you know, we don't have fights after fights. That’s the business of fighting, and a lot of people don’t like each other,” explained the president.
Dana believes that the UFC did not go beyond the limits in promoting the confrontation between Khabib and Conor in the main fight of UF 229. “That's just a stupid opinion”, said the franchise commander in response to Ali Abdelaziz.
UFC 223
During UFC 223, in April this year, McGregor attacked a bus taking fighters to Media Day. The Irishman targeted Nurmagomedov. However, ‘Notorious’ was not punished by the UFC, but by the New York courts.
